I'm an anti-French Defence advocate, I don't believe the French Defence is a very exiting opening for black, and in most cases you can get into very passive positions, that being said it has a few merits which you exploited to great effect in that game, The move 5.Bb5 is a no-no in the French for white, and 7.f4 is also a bad idea in that specific position, the way you capitalized was great good pressure good ideas great result!
Black played a good game, and he took advantage of white, because white was trying to push his pawns rather than developing.
