U COULD totally hav won cause it night gainst rook, could hav killed the night and take the rook and king against king checkmate, but if u did a stupid move he could kill ur rook and it would hav been a draw, so it depends on how u play ur moves, but if black kills ur rook, thans black still couldnt have won cause a knight doesnt hav enough power to take on a king alone even if he has his king, so it could hav been a win, and could hav been a draw, depending on your moves

Black to play CAN win. (It's a simple win.)

  1. Centralize the King to e5. [BEFORE moving any pawns!]
  2. Push the passed f-pawn. [Supported by King and Knight.]

Unless White also centralizes the King... then its a draw.   The strong Knight in the middle is worth the Rook so Black should NOT lose the game.  The extra two pawns doesn't hurt either.

Always helpful is to remember Laskers pawn rule: "Always distrust the pawn move."  A pawn move forever changes the game.

I'm not sure if black could win, but he could certainly draw if he would have taken white's rook when he had the chance(s).

you could win, if you got the black king on the side of the board with the white king in front of it and the white rook on the space above the white kingSmile

Oh come on.  You can't force a win in R vs N when there's no immediate tactic.

If you were black no not really, that pawn isnt going anywhere and the best you could have done is draw by insufficient material, if you were white then yes you could have won. The most glaring opportunity to me is on 57 R b8 K e8 (he could move there it doesn't really matter) 58 Rxb4 Nxb4 59 Kxb4.  At that point, you have two pawns and your king is in front of his, if you don't play like a drunk, the game is your's. And if you do, you still draw.  In the endgame, it's all about the pawns, don't be scared to lose an exchange to gain extremely powerful pawns.
