Attacking the g7 (g2) pawn

After king has castled,attacking the g2 pawn (usually with rook) to destroy enemy's defenses is a method that we are going to analyze with some examples.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the first diagram black is threatening Qa1 mate but white takes advantage from the open g file

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Black threatens check at a2..

 

 

 

 

 

 

White has gave 4 pawns to develop his pieces and now is hoping for a nice combination..

    It sems like a small "orgasm" to sacrifice your queen for a checkmate in next several moves!

    My mistake,e7 pawn simply does not exist!I have now fixed the diagram,sorry.

    Please, explain to me why Black doesn't play : e7xQf6 instead Kg8! 1st diagram.
