Hello everybody!
First a little introduction...
This is a new series of articles in which I'll share with you famous and instructive games played by grandmasters. I think that we can all agree that going through GM's games can be beneficial for your chess skills and that it improves your overall chess understanding. I choose the games for which I think they have some educational value, or are famous part of chess history, or have some amusing story behind it or in some other way are worthy to be presented. Word about analysis also, I try to analyse games myself, and good part of that comes from me, but I also use outside help (Internet, chess software ect... ) in attempt to bring you as much information as possible for better understanding of the game. So, I can't claim that everything in my analysis is correct, and that I didn't miss some stuff (in fact I'm sure I did and can only challenge you to find it
), but I try my patzerish best here and you feel welcome to say if I go somewhere wrong. Enjoy the games, and see you all next week.
For the first week I decided to present you a little bit of history connected to the Marshall Attack in Ruy Lopez opening. This is a famous opening named after one of America's best players of all times, Frank James Marshall. So let's check it out.
