Queen gambit trap

Submitted by Am3692 on Fri, 11/16/2007 at 3:23pm.

An interesting trap I used in a game with the Queen Gambit Declined. Black played incorrectly, right into the jaws of the trap. This is a useful attack against aggressive center players or King pawn users.

The first 8 moves is the main trap, the rest is the aftermath.

why didn't the pawn take the knight, I fail to see it as a trap as the opposition didn't fall for anything he just was a bad player.

This is an actual game, not a setup. After bxc6, white still wins a bishop.
