Setting it Up

Submitted by benws on Mon, 02/02/2009 at 4:06pm.

Sergey Karjakin wrapped up his Corus win yesterday by winning his last round game. Here is the game from the 12th, penultimate game, which put him into the leader group tied with 5 others. His more active pieces make all the difference.

(btw, i encourage everyone to check out his blog)

I would love a play-by-play commentary with this, but learned a lot just by watching it as it is.

Yes Karjakin won the tournament using the Spanish Opening often, would you say he has aggresive play?

good game, though on move 34 I would have personally moved Bd6, then followed up with a queen.
