Hey all, this is a 5-minute blitz game so by no means a Gligoric-Fischer najdorf matchup as I am no world champ Tongue out . However, I was excited during the game because it was the deepest into the main line I've ever played in a blitz game online. Given my weak rating, and therefore the opponents I'm paired with, it's rare to actually see opening theory study pay-off. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Overall, I'm proud of this game and appreciate it's opening theory. Missing the knight fork TWICE in the middlegame defnitely tarnishes it for me, but luckily the mating attack redeems some of that. I hope you all enjoy and let me know what ya think!

Frankly speaking, I really did enjoy reading your game commentaries. Maybe the blitz game was played with many inaccuracies for both of you but your comments were really accurate. I love to play blitz games too and suffer the same problem -chess blindness! Anyway, you really didn't like his ugly-looking queen. You missed to kiss her twice!! e.g. 1.) 21. Nf6+!! (forking the K and Q, of course capturing the queen would lead to a force mate.) 2.) Ne7+!!Smile

instead of 28.Nf6 why u did move ur queen to f6+ no other options for black king to Kh7 or Kg8. Qg7#.

if black plays 28. ....  Qxe4+ 29.Nxe4 Bxe4+ has a fork right? so, the white loses his queen. the black has an extra rook..against white...Tongue outbleee

PNS, I enjoyed this article thoroughly.

While it may not speak well for your chess, the ability to critically examine your errors (with humor, no less) speaks well for your character.

If we all played prospectively as well as we do retrospectively, we'd all be unbeatable.

And what fun would that be?

Black can win in that position. 28... Qxe4+ as you said, the only move to prevent mate 29.Nxe4 Bxe4+ and black forks the king and queen. After 30.Qxe4 Rxe4, black has an extra rook and should win. Instead of 28. Nf6, 28.Qf6+ wins for white (Kh7 Qg7#).

    hey ...after 20 Qxd7

    you could play 21 Nf6+,

and if he took your knight with his pawn... you could mate him in 3 after a check with your rook...

    am I nt correct?

...Black easily wins this game if he didn't resign.  Queen to pawn, bishop to knight, and your queen is toast.

    In your analysis, 28. Nf6 Qxe4+  29. Nxe4 Bxe4 is a check. Black wins.

I don't think your 1400 rating had anything to do with it, as that's an obvious fork (after all, you placed your knight there for a reason); it was probably the ticking clock that got to you.
