Sicilian Sveshnikov

1.e4 c5

2.Nf3 Nc6

3.d4 cxd4

4.Nxd4 Nf6

5.Nc3 e5

The Sveshnikov is a modern and uncompromising way to play the Sicilian Defence.On move 5 Black makes a center-strike without any preparation which at first sight looks dubious but longer analyse gives Black dynamic attack on kingside and control of the central dark squares.And as some Sveshnikov exponents say "This hole on d5 isn't Black's weakness if he knows what to do". But let's look at a position arising from Novosibirsk variation:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sveshnikov is favoured by Leko,Kramnik,Radjabov,Shirov and Topalov

Yes, is a modern and uncompromising way to play the Sicilian Defence, but before playing this variation, Black should be prepared to play against the Nyezhmetdinov Rossolimo Attack, if White plays 3....Bb5.
