          I think that some traps would be enough to learn. I have won queen infinite times after 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qc6?? 4.Bb5! or 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Qf6 3.Nc3 Nc6 4.Nd5 Qe6?? 5.Nxc7+!

And every opening has some traps to be played, just see them.

Yes I agree that study plans should be given out much earlier and not stalled forever. Perhaps the staff are too absorbed in finding new customers for their ads space and forgot the needs of experienced players.

Chemwong I am anything but mediocre. I study on my own and have learned a lot. I self-teach myself as I'm good at it. Most people need a syllabus to help them get the basics and fundamentals and then move on. Advanced materials come from those whose creativity, time investd in learning chess, dedication to the game helps those who need the help to get it. If something was promised it should be delivered period. Good luck on all your games.

"Therefore, mediocrity and speed chess will continue to reign supreme, because most of you are ignorant."

Yes, blitz chess or bullet chess from non-premium members generates coins from ads fastest as they spawn at monstrous rate. The "dedicated" member in terms of paying membership fee and chess study time, are neither of top importance nor top urgency.

I have to agree with Les4chess on that one. I think with advanced plans Chess.com would have to raise our premiums to pay for it.

We need to just accept it, there are never going to be advanced study plans. It has been over 2 years since they were promised. It's just not going to happen. I think they haven't got the slightest clue how to put together such a thing.  Think about it, in order to do this, it would require even more advanced players to put it together, but these guys want a lot of money for their work. However, there are not enough advanced players to pay for it. Therefore, mediocrity and speed chess will continue to reign supreme, because most of you are ignorant. Cool

Make sure you understand each section completely or you'll just get confused. Each section builds on the knowledge of the other. Just like math if you don't understand one part you won't understand harder math. Make sure you play a lot of chess though. That is the best teacher.

Some advice please re how best to use the Study Plans.  Should one for example take each section step by step and fully complete before moving on to next section, i.e. complete #1 Beyond the Basics before moving on to #2 Beginners: The Opening! etc. OR mave in a parallel fashion thorugh each section until all completed?

I would study what is provided until I've learned it. Pick an opening that fits you for white and black and play it religiously against every opening that your opponents throw at you. Nothing like playing and focusing on every move you and your opponenet make. It will sharpen your skills, and play tactics everyday. You should improve your rating in no time. Play the game for fun too, you'll win more games.
