Turning the Tides in the Endgame

Submitted by yavuz1990 on Sat, 12/06/2008 at 1:00pm.

In this game, I've made a terrible mistake against my father, and lost a Rook against his Knight. But I didn't resign, because I knew I could draw in the endgame. And luckily, I found a winning move against him...

I know this game will look easy to 'manyone' in this site. But the point is, you may win or at least draw in worse situations(ex: King against King and two Knights!) Just don't quit early, and fight until the defeat is obvious(if it is obvious, I would respect my opponent and just resign)... You may turn the tides in the endgame.(who knows?)

It is said that two passing pawns at 6th rank cannot be hold with a rook.
