Tal breaks out in style in this game, with a long combination lasting no less than 13 moves. It involves quite a few sacrifices, with the inevitable queening of a pawn. It helped him to get bronze in this championship.

Benko is in his element in this game, as he quickly acquires a passed pawn on the 7th rank. However, it takes some fancy manoeuvring to get white's defense to crack. This he accomplishes in style.
