A nice game by Hoi, in which he outwits an great russian player. He commits himself to a kingside attack early, and doesn't turn back. A few astounding sacrifices follow, and when his opponent stumbles, catches him in a unique mate.

Sacrifices can be advantageous, or spiteful, depending on how well it is calculated. However, without a doubt they do have a talent of making games more interesting, as you will see in the following game.
