Zechariah 13:7 - Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones."ABOVE ALL" by Michael W. Smith
Lyrics to "ABOVE ALL" by Michael W. Smithhttp://www.metrolyrics.com/above-all-lyrics-michael-w-smith.html Suddenly, you find that you are left alone. You are surrounded by angry soldiers who are taking you away, holding torches and weapons in their hands. You have done nothing, yet you are being treated as if you murdered a thousand people. And all of your friends...they left you to die. You are beaten...alone. You are spit upon...alone. You are cursed...alone. There is no one there to comfort you or stand beside you - you alone must bear this torment. This is only a small picture of what Jesus felt. He walked this earth for 30 years, then was anointed by the Father to do His work, and He chose 12 men who walked beside Him for 3.5 years while He ministered to the masses. When His time came to be betrayed, His disciples - His friends - left him and ran.Sometimes God is calling us to a walk with Him that no one else is going to go along with. You will feel those nails in your hands when they tell you that your work is in vain. You will feel those nails in your feet when they tell you that you are walking out of the will of God. You will feel the thorns on your brow as they tell you that you are not thinking straight. As long as you are out of their will, you will be an outcast to them.Sometimes God allows these moments to happen to draw us closer to Him. These moments are a cutting of the umbilical cord. The only cord you need is the one attached to Him! If you are tapped into anything else, it is a form of idolatry, and you must allow God to cut the cord. The sooner you allow Him to have His way in your life, the sooner you will see fruitfulness come to pass.Today, I encourage you - don't think things are going strange when life is not going how you would like it to go. Sometimes God is testing you to see if you will be obedient to Him. Remember the admonishment ofIsaiah 1:19-20 / 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. God is not against you - He is for you! But you are going to have to walk by faith where He is leading you to enter the promised land!
