Halosar Trap -- Play to End the Game

BK Academy of Chess presents:

Halosar Trap -- Blackmar-Diemer Gambit

http://goo.gl/el3vC

Sometimes we find ourselfs playing for the endgame. Always counting material, with some of us even being afraid to drop just one pawn.  Then we have the stone cold positional players, clinging onto a slight avantage while missing out on huge dividend because they are affraid to take a risk.  They make it to the endgame but can't convert their small advantage so they settle for a draw.

Why is this?  It's because we're always thinking about and playing for the endgame.  Folks, most games don't even make it to the endgame.  Rev Tim Sawyer wrote in one of his Keybooks, "Stop playing for the endgame, play to end the game! Be a winner. Play the Blackmar–Diemer Gambit!"'

Brought to you by BK Academy of Chess - Together we build, and with FIVE for FIGHTING we even the score.

Only time I have ever seen the Blackmar-Diemer gambit was against me in a tournament.  I found most of the best moves at the beginning of the game and was able to hold off the initiative.  Eventually he lost control of the center and I was able to take another pawn and eventually the game.  It was interesting, but even without knowing the theory, the moves are not too difficult to find.  I would not attempt to play this against any sort of good opponent.  If you like gambits, try the Evan's gambit, King's Gambit, maybe even the Smith-Morra gambit.   You get a little better game as a gambiteer I feel.

Thanks JavierGracia for the comment. Maybe I'll do another video or two on the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit. I certainly have much more material that I could present.

The B-M gambit is an oppening not very often finded on Chess books and/or tournements. This video permits to me to analize some initial good moves alternatives to understand better this oppening. Thanks...!
