I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with chess........but consider this tie-in...........enjoy this small feast while you play a game with a dear friend..........or why not just look at it from the standpoint of saving a few bucks?
Do you have stale bread that you don't want to eat? Turn it into something delicious -- by making Traditional Bread Pudding. I obtained this recipe from Quebec this past summer 2010.......Just made some -- thought it was delicious and a great compliment to coffee or tea on chilly mornings -- any season.
Traditional Bread Pudding (Quebecois)
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups of nonfat half & half
1 1/2 cups of maple syrup
cubed stale bread -- about 3 cups...........or enough to saturate your egg/milk/syrup mix
Butter
Preheat oven to 350 (180 c). Beat eggs, add milk, and maple syrup. Add bread cubes and allow to soak up egg mixture a few minutes. Pour into a buttered 9 inch (20 cm) pan and dot with small cubes of butter. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until the pudding is nicely golden.
Enjoy chess friends.
