There is a lot of posting about making games as
live as possible, clamoring for fast games (blitz, etc.). I still long for those years past when chess is played leisurely, no time involved, as if chess is some form of meditation. I imagine playing under a cool shady tree in mid afternoon, waiting patiently for the friend to move, no prodding, no nothing.
Why not bring that back, or perhaps why not change our chess attitude and think of it as something relaxing, something worthwhile, comparable to reading a good book, or watching a movie, dancing, or even praying. Feel the breeze...
