Beginning on Tuesday, March 10th, starting at 8 AM Pacific, Chess.com/TV  brings us opening round coverage of the 280-player filled 2015 Reykjavik Open, one which will be filled with celebration and a very special guest, 23-year-old Norweigian GM and World Champion Magnus Carlsen. Magnus will be visiting Reykjavik from March 13th-16th. The tournament itself runs from the 10th-18th, and Chess.com/TV will be bringing every round to you. Check the Chess.com/TV page for the current schedule and show times. The hosts/commentary team for the entire tournament will be FM Ingvar Thor Johannesson and WIM Fiona Steil-Antoni.

The time controls for this tournament will be as follows:

90 min for 40 moves + 30 minutes after 40 moves. Increment of 30 sec. for every move. No draw offers before 30 moves have been played.

The tournament this year will also celebrate the recent 80th birthday of Iceland's 1st ever GM - Fidrik Olaffson.

There are 280 players this year, up 25 from the previous year and the participants will come from 38 countries. David Navarra and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov highlight and headline this event, which is a 10-round swiss event.

Co-creator, along my with girlfriend RookedonChess, of the Official Chess.com/TV Group, back in November of 2010 with the support of Chess.com, namely IM David Pruess and IM Danny Rensch. The group has since boiled over the 2000 member mark and is growing more and more every day and new shows and events are constantly being added to the arsenal. There's always something happening in the group. Don't miss out.

Come join it now and interact with the hosts, leave comments and suggestions on how to better Chess.com/TV or The Official Chess.com/TV Group.

I am now once again doing my chess journalism on Chess.com, following news, events, announcements, etc. I'm not going to let a couple of idiotic people chase me away from what I love to do. If I get any bad comments, they will be deleted right away.
