Bullet is not good.

For  chess player who whant to make progress in chess I recommend to not play any more bullet.Becouse bullet is not good for chess.Bullet is good for fun but not good for your chess power.I recomend blitz but only 10 blitz games per day max,not more...You can test your openings and test you calculations...If you play more than 10 games blitz that will have influence on your normal chess. And when you play normal games you will play too fast..

But ChessTrener, under my circumstances, I think it is. I was going way too slow in rated chess games with longer times controls. Plus, every time I got time pressured, I would start saccing pieces left and right. However, once I started playing bullet, this improved. I am better under time pressure, and I am going faster in longer time controls, but still playing my best. I mean, what is the definition of bullet? You can play 2 plus one, and then it decreases the likelihood of dropping queens or loosing on time. Yes, blitz is better to play than bullet, but for ME, bullet helped me a lot. People play a lot of crazy opening that I've never seen, so I got to study these openings after the games. I am now pretty comfortable no matter what you throw at me. However I do recommend this: play the opening you would play in longer times controls in bullet if you want to get anything out of it. Otherwise, yes, bullet is kind of stupid to play.

Well for me I play somewhere in between, 10 or 15 minutes, I play 30 minutes but finish around 5-10 minutes. I don't want to play 5 minutes or less anytime soon... I'm bad at time pressure.

bullet winner: practice and play normal moves rapidly without mistake with just a little tactics.these games usually end with winning on time.

blitz winner: you should play opening rapidly and try to development.dont think to make a plan in opening so much becasue you will need more time in middle game and end game.players who dont think so much at opening usually will win the game with win on time or by opponent,s mistake because of shortcoming time

standard winner: at this type of games you should think at opening, middle game and end game enough becasue winner will be the player who thought more and know more about strategy and tactic.these type of games make you weak at blitz and bullet in time part

Depends from player to player...For some players more blitz have  good influence on normal chess and  for some not good...But bullet 1000procent make bad influence on every player...

I believe that every calculation related field has two important aspect : (i) Accuracy (ii) Speed. When we talk about machines, their speeds comes from increasing the speed because they are already accurate while in case of humans speed comes when you think accurately. Accuracy needs time and hard-work. You nurture your patterns collection by examining different positions in chess and that actually suggests you the correct ideas and plans fast which in returns increases your speed.  So focus more on concepts and try to implement them into your games, speed is an end result of learning. It shouldn't be the primary target.

"I recomend blitz but only 10 blitz games per day max,not more...You can test your openings and test you calculations...If you play more than 10 games blitz that will have influence on your normal chess."

How do you arrive at that formula?

I agree with IM Trener.... maybe for supre GMs like Nakamura it is ok, but for normal people, bullet is just reflexes, and not much thinking (of course). It is a bad habit....to move before you think....

There should be a rule about when to resign in bullet...But it cannot be applicable as everybody loves to win...

I completely agree with you, IM ChessTrener!

Had I taken the time put into bullet (and some of the time put into blitz) and instead studied or played slow games, I think I would be a better chess player today.

I cannot change the past, but I can change the future! Cool

I dont agree with Lou11...If you whant to be fast you can play blitz not bullet...What you can learn from 1min game?I lost 10 games with quen more and mouse problem...

I am the complete opposite. I started playing bullet when everytime I got into time trouble in a longer game, I played horrible. Playing bullet helped me go a little faster in my longer time control games so I did not get in time trouble every game. However, for people who already play fast, I agree: do not play a lot of bullet.
