Missed Rxd6. Very interesting but somehow it does not work as good as 2.Nd5. All I could find was equality.

3.b5 Re8 4.Be3 Re5 5.Bd4! (5.Bxb6 f4 black has stopped Nd5 move) 5...Re6 6.f3 black can not do anything. Black can  give away the exchange back in many lines but can not win with it.

3.Nd5 b5! 4.a5 (4.Bh6 bxa4 5.Bxf8 Kxf8 6. Nb6 Ra6 7.Nxc8 b5  the knight is trapped and black will eat it soon with winning chances in the rook ending. Or he could also in some crazy lines not eat it and still try to win.) 4...Kf7 5.Bh6 Rg8 6.Re1 g5 7.h4 gh4 8.Re7 Kg6 and perpetual checks lurking around.

In the 2nd diagram, I keep looking for ways to play Rxd6 cxd6 and then blockading the pawns. But I don't think it works, after say 2.Rxd6 cxd6 white needs to play both 3.Nd5 and 3.b5.

But then I can't really look at any alternatives. Tunnel vision...

    Nice post :-)

Muchio interesting, Cant get enough of these things.

Its all a question of positional values, like weak squares and devoloping of pieces.

    Then the tactic comes.

Please bring on more of this stuff you can never practice enough!
