In a recent blitz-game, I was swepped by my oponent when he countered my Sicilian defense with 2.Qh5. I checked if this was a common move, but in the openings database there were just a couple of games with that position. And it was statiscally a bad move for white, so why did I have so much trouble with it?
See the diagram.
I read that 2. e6 is also very nice.
I agree with Southpawsam above...I would have played ...g6
Thanks! After I posted this blog, again I got in to trouble after Qh5, so I'll explore both options.
Interesting move by White, and I have two suggestions for you.
It protects the pawn and c2 is a good square for the queen to develop.
THIS IS THE MOVE I THINK YOU SHOULD PLAY!!!
This move protects the pawn and is the Dragon Variation of the Sicilian. But the next move will close the book on White. Let's say he develops a kinght or a bishop, you play 3...g6!!
This move attacks the queen and gets ready to develop the bishop, and after he moves his queen, your playing the Dragon Sicilian a tempo up!
