Hi Kayden.  Nice to see the Utah Chess960 State Champion is still playing!   I hope to win back the title that you took from me this year, on June 8th, 2010 in Cedar City.   Your parents say you won't be able to make it, which I'm sorry to hear, but it will certainly make my job a lot easier!  :)

Fischer Random (Chess960) has won me over completely. I love the feeling of entering head-to-head combat at move one, instead of at move 15 or 20. Chess has become a game for memorizers who want to rely on the genius of others, Chess960 is for creatives who want to rely only on their own wit from the very start.  

Fortunately for you, you are both a great memorizer and a super-strong creative, so you get to rule at both games like Alexandra Kosteniuk and Hikaru Nakamura do!

Here is a simple way to set up an initial position for Chess960. 1) Set up all pawns on second rank. 2) White places B, N or Q on any back-rank square and Black places same piece, symmetrical. 3) Black places remaining B, N or Q and white copies. 4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 until only 3 squares remain (B's must start on opposite colors). Then K goes on middle open square, R's on other two. This process can be done on the clock, or not.

Interesting tactics involved. Chess 960 is a good game in which to truly and honestly test chess skills in a player, anyone can memorize openings and seem brilliant, in Chess 960 there is no such thing as openings, which leads to one player winning (or losing) solely on the merit of their skills. It is also a great way to train tactical sight as you get many opportunities for tactics in Chess 960.

The Black's posinion is at a loss; hovewer, 2.. Bd5 instead of Rc8 gives them a chance to do some more moves!

Well I can't say I like one more then the other one, but I will say that sometimes I feel like playing one more then the other one. But I have to say I like them both alot.

i hate regular chess due to i dont memirise opinings and i like 960 beter
