My First Blog Post!

Hi! My name is Kayden Troff, I am a National Master from Utah. I am 11 years old and I LOVE chess! I play/study chess for 6-7 hours total every day, and I am hoping to one day have it up to 10 to 13 hours a day (is sleep really necessary?). I am  currently the number one rated player in the country for all players my age.  The first thing I want to make clear is that I do chess out of my own free will. Why, you may ask... because (as I already said) "I LOVE chess!".  I started playing when I had just turned 3 years old.  I used to sit on my dad's lap and watch him play with my brothers.  I don't really remember that, but my parents say that one day I just announced I wanted to play and started playing.  For me, I never remember a time that I did not play chess.  There have been so many cool things that have happened to me because of my chess.  I have been able to travel all over including to Mexico for the North American Championship, I have met some really cool people, and I've made money!!Smile  You can read all about me on my website at http://kaydentroff.blogspot.com/.  I think Chess.com is great and I am excited to have the chance to play and improve on this website.  I especially like the Tactics Trainer with the ratings.  If you haven't tried that out yet, you really should!!!

Nice first post, Kayden!   I love chess too, and get to study and play it about 6-7 hours per week, on a good week.   Smile   Wish we could be Bughouse partners again this year, but it sounds like the Utah Champs are too far out of the way in between the Copper State and the National Open.   Damian
