David Oistrakh vs Sergei Prokofiev

Not many people know that the famous Soviet violinist, teacher and conductor David Oistrakh was fond of chess.Yes, Sir,he loved chess and was a strong  chess player.Mr.Oistrakh met Emmanuel Lasker and Vasily Smyslov.In the picture above you can see him playing chess with his friend Sergei Prokofiev (Soviet composer and pianist).Igor Oistrakh said:" My father was often upset when he had won a game against Mr.Prokofiev, for he knew that Sergei Prokofiev would have a sleepless night therefore he could not write his beautiful music".

    I wonder if he played against E. Laskar and V. Smyslov.
