Hopefully I will follow through with this.  Here is the first in a series of Caro-Kann miniatures used to illustrate how people go wrong in playing the Caro-Kann.

Caro-Kann players must be aware of the weakness on f7.  The uncastled King is subject to powerful sacrifices on f7.  The black player here needed to defend the f7 square by either defending it directly or prevent the tactics that made it exposed (i.e. bishop and queen overpowering e6 after f7 gone.

Black could have defended satisfactorily on move 10. ...Qe7.
