Grob and Reverse Grob

I started playing the Grob, and the Reverse Grob on chess.com to see what would happen!  I was shocked after a few nice positions coming from it, and a few wins of Black's a8 rook!  Tongue out  I looked it up on Fritz' database.  Of course, the normal Grob had been played a few hundred times at GM and IM level.  And the Reverse Grob (1...g5!?) had also been played.  Five wins!  (21 losses and 7 losses, too!)

Has anyone else had any experience playing with either colour with these two openings?

    i have been playing the reversed grob for a while, but usually as 1.h6 2.g5...similar moves from opponents - they normally opt for a classical approach and take the centre squares with e and d pawns

    couple of games where very strong players have made early blunders with moves that felt very natural to them;

    I've definitely had some good experiences with it on playchess.  It definitely lulls your opponent into a false sense of security.  It does still require an accurate defence.

    But it's not bad in blitz.  I quite like it in blitz.  The other guy has not got a clue what's going on, normally, so he either thinks or he plays something rubbish.  Often, in blitz, you can win the opponent's a8 rook!

    And it's a bit of fun.

    The Grob's quite fun for a surprise opening but white's dark squares become quite weak.  I've play it occasionally online...
