i find this game quite interesting in the way that white has put all hope in this checkmate and black has fallen due to his greediness.
the game was played on the 21st june 1851 between anderssen (white) and kieseritzky (black) this game was played during the break of the first international chess tournament and white wins a astonishing game. another game played by anderssen is the evergreen game, the name "immortal" came from ernst falkbeer in 1855. do not get this game confused with the immortal zugzwang game which has nothing to do with this as this was between freidrich saemisch and aron nimzowitsch.
