Much of the lesson was focused on using the power of the subconscious mind to improve your results, especially as you start playing higher rated players. A couple of things we talked about, is using visualization and affirmation to improve and make your chess playing more consistent. before you start a game, try and visualize yourself playing the best moves against your opponent. See yourself responding to the moves of your opponent in a way that is appropriate for the position. Every game you ever played, every principle and pattern you ever came across in playing the game resides in your subconscious mind. By visualizing yourself making the right moves, it puts you in that proper 'frame of mind' or as some people refer to being in the zone to accept from your subconscious mind what is the next proper move. Affirmations are another way to see yourself improve your game. Write down what your goals in chess are in the present tense. Don't write down statements about what you wish for or you hope you will achieve, but write them in the present tense as if they are already occurring. Be as specific as you can because the subconscious mind works best when you speak and write and visualize in specifics and not in generalities. I recently read a book by the name of

"Beyond the Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Jenson C. James if you think you want to further your study on this subject.
