While it is true that since being awarded the Samford Fellowship I have ceased any and all chess instruction, I will always remain a lifelong fan of all those who entrusted me with their chess development. With this in mind, I'd like to use this blog post as a forum to get out the word for a lovely fundraiser that will be taking place at the Berkeley Chess School, where I first learned chess, on November 16. A lot of the BCS coaches will be there, including many who have had a profound and positive impact on my early chess career. And all proceeds of the fundraiser itself will be going to Josiah Stearman and Callaghan McCarty-Snead, two former students of mine who will be representing the United States at the World Youth Chess Championship in December. To learn more about the fundraiser, and the travels of my students, check out the website http://josiahandcallaghan.weebly.com/.
Best of luck to all,
