Result of the simul GM Ipatov vs 10 Chess.com members which took place on April, 28th : 8,5-1,5 (+8=1-1). I'm copying here all played games, enjoy!
Lodeddiperchess : Simul will start at 9 pm GMT+3 on May,12th.
any 3 days game like IM torzo simul that was great and may 12 what time it would be
FancyKnight : Thank you for participating! Next time you will do better, I'm sure!
Lodeddiperchess : Next simul will take place on May,12th. You're welcome!
I unfortunately made a game losing blunder already at move 11 :(. Nevertheless I think I learned something from your technique of converting the advantage. Thanks for the game GM Ipatov!
any more to come like any more simuls in chess.com?
ElvinWilliams Thank you for the game too! Since it was a simul game, I didn't remember which move was more precise : 6.e3 or 6.f3, because 5...b6 has never appeared in my real tournament practice. Maybe I could have played 12.e5 instead of pinning you with 12.Bg5. The position when we agreed on draw should be better for you if you decided to escape from checks with Kf8,Kg8, but of course I would retain come compensation thanks to jumps of my knight : Nf4-h5-f6,etc. I think, you played quite well since I did not manage to create tangible threats! Good luck and hope to play against you during next simul, which will take place on May,12th!
Thank you for the game. It was a privilege and a great learning experience to play such a strong opponent.
I was not very familiar with 6.e3 lines in this Nimzo... I was more ready for the 6.f3 so this was an excellent learning oppurtunity.
Also looking back on my play I was looking at a few alternatives...
15. ...d5 looks a little risky and premature. Maybe g5 or 0-0 immediately was better.
I wasn't sure about 17.Bg3 I had calculated 17.Bf2 but it makes sense to not allow 17.Bf2 Nh5 and 18. ... Nf4 with Rg8 and Qg5 on the way. Quite double-edged play
Also I wonder if 24. .... 0-0 wasnt quite playable instead of taking the exchange with 24. .... Bxf1
At the end I was worried about my King getting in a worse spot than he was already in. I had seen that 26. Qc6+ Kf8 27. Qc5+ Kg8 was looking to force a perpetual with Knight and Queen checks. I felt that you could force a perpetual (or worse) with some kind of Nh5, Nf6 Nh5 and Nf4 combo esp. if you could get checks with Qc2 at some point. It was a confidence issue. Against a lower or equally rated opponent i would have rolled the dice, against a GM I take a draw.
Again thanks for the game and any comments on our game would be greatly appreciated. You are a great player and inspiration.
Marcokim thanks for believing in me! :) Well, in one superior position I just blundered a knight in one move. Anyway result was better than in first simul ( 7-3) !
Alex I am surprised they got you for (8.5,1.5), I had bet you would whitewash this one (10,0). Anyway good job and keep the simuls going.
steinitz_attack : thank you too! good luck!
Almost draw, thanks for the game GM.
