Mastering the Middlegame

Welcome back to my Chess.com Blog! This is the second part of a blog series I have devoted to the major parts of the game, namely the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. In this second episode, I have focused on the major planning techniques in different middlegame set-ups. Piece restriction and sound planning are the main points I am bringing up in this lecture through an illustrative example that teaches how straightforward the middlegame strategy can be. I hope you enjoy this lecture and learn from it!

looks like a case of too much difference in playing strength/really bad day for black.

starting position seems like a kings-indian type, and black is not attacking, so will perish.first move by black should have been f5(otherwise why play the knight to back-rank).

I tried to put some of these ideas into practice in this game, although I made a couple of slight mistakes (protected passed pawn) I stayed in control of the board and eventually won the game...
