Too many bishops

It would seem I delight knowing that somehow having diagonal movement is great .

What am I?

I am a bishop.

A bishop controls lines but sometimes I am too damn quick to sacrifice them. I often find myself with not enough space to operate in.

Therefore, I am hoping to get more out of the bishop. The bishop can help in more ways than one.

But how well do you protect these pieces so ever loyal to the knights?

Being more meticulous may be a great route to go.

How can I better protect these diagonal busters?

How can they not turn into chess meals?
