If you hadn't miscalculated on move 26 maybe you could of had a chance
When he did 3. d5, wouldn't it be recommanded to do 4. xd5 Nxd5 5. e4!
I have to agree with Mr. Moskwa on this one. Your Bxd5 move KILLED you, Zane.HOWEVER, the fact that you did play so well, against such a skilled opponent, is a GREAT indicator of how you're improving this season.
However, like I've been telling you; in games like this, FORGET ABOUT THE RATINGS. It doesn't matter what your opponent's rating is, or what your rating is. A rating is an evaluation of skill based on a player's PAST performances. It says NOTHING about how either you or your opponent will play during THAT GAME.
Keep training, keep working on your tactics, and your in-game calculation, and especially your endgame. The things that tend to DESTROY you are miscalculated trades, so each time you're going to make an exchange, look CAREFULLY at it, and make sure you're not making a mistake, because when you do, you have a tendency to drop rooks and minor pieces.
Look forward to State, and I know you'll do fine. Don't panic, work on improving your game, and keep this in mind: it doesn't matter WHO you're playing, it matters HOW you're playing.
You were playing a fantastic game up until 12. Bxd5
After that it's a losing game.
Why'd you take the knight anyways? Jw.
Other than that, this was one of my funner games during the season! We played mostly an even and positional game. Not often I face even opponents. :)
