Hi. I have just created two thematic tournaments, both unrated, and I would like chess.com members to take a look an join if they feel for it. Here is the idea behind :
When you are playing black against 1.d4, where can you take control over the progress of opening? If you are a 1.d4 d5 player, where can you deviate, so you are getting an opening suitable for you?
First possible point would be 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e5, the D08 Albins Countergambit. You study this opening with black, and hope your opponent hasn't and that blacks amitious 2nd move is getting white out of his comfort zone. Here is the tournament. Join if you like to!
Another point would be the funny Queen Gambit Slav Declined/Accepted, where you first act like you are playing declined, and then take the pawn. The move order 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 dxc4 5.a4 Bf5 is the starting point of the games in this tournament. ECO is D17. Unrated games, here is the tournament. Welcome!
The unrated option is for the players to take risky and dubious choises without risking his/her rating. This is for experementing, learning and fun only.
