Chess Boxing

I guess it's time to post in my blog again...

In this nice game, Ivanchuck launches a surprise attack against Kasparov in the 1991 Linares super-tournament. He sacrifices a pawn, and his pieces quickly invade his opponent's position. Kasparov is thrown on the defensive and eventually falls into a mating net.

Common the author means withit that superplayers play moves that can be hits or knock outs. And yes Kasparov is knock out. Not that i like that he didnt castle.

Yes, nice game. But why is this blog entry titled "Chess Boxing"? This has nothing to do with that.

On a relevant, but random sidenote, "chessboxing" is actually a new and upcoming sport.

It involes alternating rounds of chess and boxing, with the winner being decided by checkmate or knockout.

Considering the mental stress of both chess and boxing (!), this must be a difficult sport.

Nice game by the way :)
