Live in L.A. Area?

As some of you know, Danny and I have been working as chess consultants on a movie the past 2 weeks. It's been a really fun experience!

This coming weekend, they are shooting tournament scenes... and they need real chess tournament players to make the scenes authentic!! So if you live in L.A. consider coming down :-) You would be:

- actually playing chess with other chess players

- getting a close-up look at the movie biz

So come on down! Or if you can't make it, let your local friends know about it. Here is the info, and the contact info if you have more questions:

(for those who can't see the images--

Location: 2900 Pico Blvd, Los Angeles 90006

Time 10-6

that would be soooo much fun... two of my favorite pastimes, chess and movies ... i'd love to see a movie set and watch how it is done ... and of course always interested in chess esp in movies since it's hardly ever considered as a small part even ... but living 2,000 miles away or so wasn't much of a chance for just 'stopping by' lol

petrosianic -- ALWAYS good question lol ... sometimes it's really embarrassing ... and honestly, it wouldn't be that difficult ... you could even use a game played by a couple GMs  ... i think you can find quite a few to choose from on this site even ;) and can use some of that way-cool chess-lingo like "Schliemann Defence", "Averbackh Variation", or "Sicilian Defence, Accelerated Fianchetto, Maroczy bind, 5...Bg7" ... Cool

AND that's why we're there Petro - to try and make the chess as authentic as possible Wink...

But it should be noted, they filmed some chess scenes without us (against our advice Tongue out) so if those scenes aren't %100 authentic, don't hold it againat us...

A chess movie that sounds interesting. If it can be something in the kind of Searching for Bobby Fischer it would be cool. I'll follow that closely.

A real chess player would forget he's in a movie while playing the game.

Moved away from LA a couple years back. Would have been fun! And with the two of you involved there is a good chance the director will know where the white square goes.
