My christmas book wishlist

I am impossible to buy christmas presents for.

That being said, my family and friends always shower me with book store gift certificates, which suits me fine. Laughing

So many books so little time, but here is a list of the books I'm planning on buying.

-Judgement and Planning in Chess by Max Euwe (supposed to be one of the only decent books on planning)

-My 60 Memorable Games by Bobby Fischer (Everyone is supposed to go through this at least once right?)

-Bent Larsen's Best Games of Chess by Bent Larsen (I've heard Larsen is an excellent annotator and a funny guy too)

-The Life and Games of Mikhail Tal (The classic!)

So, does anyone have any good suggestions for some lovely books I might have left out? I'm also big on political economic literature and might pick up  Human Action by Ludwig van Mises.

What book are you picking up for Christmas this year?

I have Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy but haven't got a chance to read it, it looks excellent though. I've heard only great things about Suba and Chess Strategy in Action too so those are definitely on my list. Thanks Tim!

Glad to hear that! Makes me happy to know there are few fellow Kramnik fans in the sea of haters Smile. Then you would really enjoy the London to Elista book, especially if you have time to go through the games seriously, and THEN read all the backstage stories about it.

I can go forever about the book. Think of a child that loves chocolates, but just can't get enough of them, not enough resources. The Elista book is like 6 months in her favorite chocolate factory with unlimited access to any chocolate related material.

Ah yes! From London to Elista I completely forgot about that book. I'm a huge Kramnik fan and this will make my year. Thanks guys! Laughing

Yes, 'London to Elista' is a great read. I'd get 'The Even More Complete Chess Addict' if you don't own it already. It's really a chess trivia book, great if you want to just relax.

If you like reading backstage-kitchen stories of chess and like Kramnik, I'd certainly recommend From London to Elista. It's by far the best book I've had that's related to chess.
