The Sicilian Dragon Part 8: The Accelerated Dragon with Nxc6

As is with most sicilians when white exchanges the knight on d4 for black's knight on c6 it doesn't pose a huge problem, it opens the b-file and gives black better control of the center. Without having played d6 though white often tries to take advantage of the weakened e5 square and uses Nxc6 as a means to disrupt normal black development.

5.Nxc6

7.Nxc6

Black shouldn't fear the Nxc6 lines, but should be well prepared to face them. Against 7.Nxc6 black can try the dynamic Nd5 or the solid Ng8 either way black has a good game trying to undermine e5
