Bobby Fischer Memorial Round 3

The last round my opponenet was around ten years old. There is not too much to say about the game I think. I made a number of mistakes but was still able to win a large amount of material and he couldn't fend off the subsequent mating force. He is still provisionally rated and I have no doubt that over time he will make a formidable opponent.

Its mate in 2 actually (don't forget that useless rook move).  Anyway good game. :)

I believe you had a free knight (or queen if he didn't move his king on the next move!) on move 15 instead of 15...d6 you had 15...Qa5! piling up on the pinned piece and winning it. Looks as if you would have had the a1 rook too unless he castled queenside on move 16.

But the endgame - wow that was brutal!! Tactics everywhere! Well played, your opponent never stood a chance! Nice to see you take a similar approach to your after-game analysis as I do, it's a great way to improve - just by posting this game up in a blog with analysis it shows you have the potential to become a great player and it's awesome to read how you have really just started again and are practicing and learning to become better! As I'm on exactly the same path of improvement myself I can appreciate how good this victory would have felt Cool (ultra-cool)

I wish you well on your continued journey of improvement and keep up blogging! Cool  Any otb rated games please post them they are a great way to track progress - in 2-3 years time you will be amazed how much you will have improved and be able to look back on your early games! Smile
