No NimZoroy, I was asking as I was interested and no other reason. Amount of members means nothing. As most do not come back once they set up an account. The amount of actual playing members or premium members are more note worthy.

I do not believe it will be a good idea to give free premium access to non-paying members.

As more paying members this website has the better the website can be and the cheaper it will be for everyone.

This website is worth every penny I paid for my premium membership.

Do not be cheap and stop crying like babies and become a paying member.

Of course the # of paying members is probably going to be miniscule when something is available for FREE

it feels great that i am one of the members of a family of 5 million chessers.....congrats chess.com....... and yeah i also second strategic play.....consider offering free access to the free members for all the videos, tournaments etc. atleast for a week without asking our credit card nos. .....that would be the greatest "return gift" by the site makers and a great way to celebrate the occassion...

Hmm what this does not mention is thats how many people have created an account. Not who play regular or who pay. I bet less then 100 thousand are paying members out of that. Maybe less than 50 thousand. Have you got those stats lol? On how many we see in chess tv maybe its even less then 50 thousand paying members. Out of 5 million we get normally under 100 in chess tv. Crazy.

Another 600 million and that will be most of the chess playing population!
