I've been trying to raise my blitz to for the last ..two days. No avail. It's dropping.

My goal is 2000. But is it unrealistic? Do you have to be a master to reach that kind of reading?

What would be the best kind of training program to get there? Playing against lower rated opponents surely isn't best, because then you start to play worse. Playing a lot of games makes you tired, and you start to drop your queen etc. Plying too little doesn't give you enough routine. Is it possible to play too much? Or does it all just give you "experience points" that add up to your real rating eventually?

See, I would need a chess coach, but can't afford one I think. I would be willing to coach some lower rated opponent for free.

Training alone is difficult, but that's what playing chess online is really about. It's lonely. Everyone you meet, is your enemy. That's why I prefer otb chess. Cause there you can actually shake hands, and you don't necessarily have to take it personally if you lose. And tournaments are social events. However, it's not always possible to have access to a chess club.

So, does anyone have any tips on how to reach 2000 in blitz? And has anyone innovatively solved this problem of not having a coach? I hear some people founded this pool where players assess each others game.

    hi leo5,

my suggestion would be to study tactical puzzles!! there are many books out there and probable some online. the best tactical books i know are from livshitz. this is the authors name. there are 3... first is for 1500 and above 2nd is master level and above. 3rd is grandmaster level. he breaks them down thematically and they are very hard. but, since you know what the theme is you know what to look for and eventually you start to see the theme in the puzzle and OTB. regardless of your rating i suggest doing 6 puzzles a day. don't look at the answer till you are sure of the answer. maybe the 1st puzzle of each theme but no more. i try to do my puzzles before i go to bed or in bed. there is a picture of each puzzle in the book and the aswer is on the next page. don't use a chess board!! force yourself to see the answer. some of the puzzles are very long especially the grandmaster level puzzles so you might need a board for a very hard puzzle. remember when playing tournament you have to see it all before your move. i jumped 200+ fide points in one year after i started tactical puzzles. once you have started your tactics you will need to work on openings and endgames. good luck and let me know if this helps you!!

    Moi!

Piti itse asiassa laittaa sulle viestiä: voisit tulla maanantaina illalla shakkikerholle, jos pääset. Pelit alkaa puol seittemän aikaan, pelipaikka on Fredrikinkadulla, voidaan vaikka treffata Kampissa tms. ja mennä siitä. Paitsi tietty jos sulla on töitä yms. yms.

Paras treeni on taktiikkatreeni.

Taktinen silmä kuitenkin ratkaisee useimmat pelit, joten siihen kannattaa panostaa.

Voidaan mun puolesta joskus pelata vaikka 30 min. peli/pelejä tms. ja vähän kattoo mikä menee pieleen. En tiedä onko musta opettajaks, mutta jotain neuvoja voin antaa ja teoriaa kertoo (loppupeliteoria on paljon tärkeempi ku avaus-!!! erityisesti nopeissa peleissä).
