After losing round 1, I was paired with Lon Brusselback in round 2. I played him in the Portland Spring Open 2010. (http://blog.chess.com/mueller/portland-spring-open-pt-1 ). I didn't remember our game at the time, and I didn't have a computer to check, but he was white in this game, and I was black, so I couldn't really draw from what we had previously played anyway. I remembered his face / name though, and informed him that I thought we had played in Portland in the past. Glad I'm not crazy, but sad I wasn't smart enough to remember and share with him our previous game.
Now I had 1/2 points and even though I was surprised and blundered in the opening, my opponent didn't take advantage of it, and so I got to live and take advantage of his blunder instead. I'm sure one day when we play, he'll be the one on top, but for now, I will take what I can get. Round 3 will come later today or tomorrow. Any questions or comments are appreciated!
