Musselburgh Chess Club were invited to a rematch by Braids United Chess Club over at there club house on the Braidhills golf club we played our games in the lounge bar which we had to ourselfs for the evenings match, this was a friendly match and a rematch as the had come to Musselburgh for the first match, both sides managed to get eight players so just made it an eight man match that was thirtytwo games of chess on the night, we won 22-10 the result does not reflect how the games went some of the games were very close in the last round and the last game our Frank O'Donnell vs Marek Deren, Marek has never played in a match before and gave frank a tough game and Marek won Franks Queen you could see the panic on Franks face but Marek slipped up and Frank won the queen back and that changed things very much as Frank an old campagner strolled over the finishing line it was three all in the last round till Frank won and made it 4-3
