Kind of a Rough One Today

I can't and won't speak for anyone else, yet, did you ever have one of those days where each visit to the board goes something like this: Every opponent's score seems to be going up and yours is staying exactly the same.

Okay then, it doesn't take long to realize that they're winning some of their other contests. Sure, no problem. But what if the games you thought you had clinched--slowly started slipping away? Find a good exit point and let your partners know it's 'time for tea'?

Maybe more time with the Tactics Trainer, play the computer, whatever...when you get to your home everyone's moved and your board looks a little, slightly RED, from all of the "My Move's"? And each of those very same opponents' scores are even higher and yours is the same...

I'm sure it goes on and on and on...so why not share some of your tough chess days here? CHEERS!

"If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger..."

Sorry, but I've always hated that line.  I tend to take the viewpoint that strength is built with love and kindness, not created by sufferring.  That kind of strength crumbles in the face of true wisdom.

It might not be a popular view, but it's mine.

Thank you! And I think you are very, very correct. I know my game is getting better (from playing) but the cost has been high...like today! Hey, thank for the response! CHEERS!

As always thank you too! It's been a long time since I've heard that quote...but so true! CHEERS MATE!
