First Club Match of the New Season - a WIN! :)

On Monday 8th October I had a pretty easy game against an unrated opponent, the game was over on move 9 but he made me get creative to finish him off lol, I KNOW I missed checkmate in the middlegame, I know I did...

Out of the 40-odd minutes I used on my clock, about 25 of them were spent in the middlegame trying to find the forced mate... I couldn't see it... haven't ran the game through Houdini yet but I'm sure I missed about 3 or 4 mate-in-2's Laughing

First game of the season, an easy win, I got offered a spot to play today for our first team but had to back out due to illness and an early morning start for work the next day. Bring on the next opponent Wink

@molondon - click on create a blog post, (can also post games, puzzles and positions in comments' boxes too) then on the upper-left of the box, click the first one, the mini-4x4 chess board and follow the instructions... it took me 2-3 games to fully appreciate all the features chess.com game inserter has to offer, such as anotations and changing the colour of the board and pieces etc, it's all on here mate, and it shows you step-by-step - just make sure to save every 30 minutes because I've lost 3h of work before by not saving regularly, I went to save it, screen reloaded and I'd lost ALL my game data, at 3am!! Well angry I was lol Tongue Out

Now Houdini 2.0 - currently THE BEST computer chess engine (by Elo rating (3347 max. but mines "only" 3200 lol, depends on your PC specifications), only £39.99 and I'd seriously recommend it if you wanna analyze your own otb games, create puzzles, play against a decent computer (there's almost unlimited settings too) or even just fool around and try and beat it on a weaker setting -  I can always draw against Houdini if she plays without a rook!! But never win... the draw always comes about by her winning an exchange (so I'm only down a N or B (insufficient mating material on its own) then everything else on the board gets swapped off or Houdini creates a blockade on a different colour complex than your best bishop... hope all this helps!! Smile

Nice game! I see mate in 3 after your comment: 29.Rd7+ Kc5 30.Rc7+ Kd6 31.Qc6# Doesn't matter of course, you were still easily winning!
