The continuing story of a chess novice...

I admit this subblog is inspired by the movie Julie & Julia.  But instead of the tribulations of French cooking, here are the tribulations of chess.

But why Alekhine?  Beyond the alliteration with my name, nothing.  If I were named Kendra, it could just as easily be Kendra vs Koltanowski.

But the juxaposition of Amy and Alekhine strikes me as very funny.  Ridiculous...and sublime.  Yet I like the picture conjured.  It makes me feel somewhat like Lisa Lane or, better yet, Diana Lanni.
