It's a Barleycorn design, and there are several sets offered on e-bay for a hefty price.
Do you (or anybody passing by!) have an idea of who made these chess pieces? I saw very similar ones in Chess: from first moves to checkmate by Daniel King which were made in 19th-century China, only less elongated and in a different material. I wonder if these are some sort of generic design like the Staunton are. (I hope I'm not saying anything stupid!)
