Chess.com is Hiring - for 3 Jobs!

Imagine working from home for your favorite website with a bunch of super talented people from around the world doing things you love to do. Sounds like a dream job, no? It is - we love our jobs! Team Chess.com (meet us here!) is looking to add a few key members to the team to help us keep up with our growing community of more than 4 million members!

We are hiring for:

  • Customer Support
  • Social Marketing
  • UI/Graphic Design

Before you get TOOO excited, just know that we only hire the BEST. We only hire people who share our values (integrity, quality, hard work, kindness, fun) and who are great at what they do. We hire amazing people with amazing skills. We don’t hire and then train. We don’t hire mean people. We hire experienced, skilled, neat people. So if that’s you, please apply! Our application process is thorough and does require time and thought. We do that because it shows us who really wants the job, and who is actually qualified and experienced.

NOTE: All jobs are work from home and require that you have your own computer and internet connection. Compensation is very good, but we cannot provide health care.

I look forward to meeting you!

    So who got it?

The positions for Support staff  have now been filled. We did get over 1200 applications recently and it was a really tough decision on who was the right person for the job.

If/when we do hire again, we will be sending out a site message to all members letting you know how to go about applying and where to forward resumes too.

Thank you all for taking an interest in working for Chess.com and we hope you continue to enjoy the site.

We can't employ everyone who applied and this certainly was a hard decision for both Erik and I because there were so many amazing resumes sent in.

The amount of people who applied was literally breath taking.

Sorry to keep you all waiting.  If you're waiting on the Customer Support position, we did get over 900 applicants for this. It is taking a little time to go through them all.

Not so far. I keep worrying that I missklicked something and that the application didn't go through. :(

Well, I don't mind working 4 hours a day. :) That would leave me with soooo much time for chess training. Hahahaha.

I'm curious - it doesn't seem to hint at full or part time (i.e. hours per week), and if the schedule would be flexible for any or all of these positions. Can there be some clarification in that regard? Thanks in advance.

I'll be applying for the Graphic Design position the moment I get home from my Graphic Design class, which I also happen to major in. Just wait until then! :D

I'm active all the time on Twitter anyway, so I already do it. Plus I have my black hat and white shirt which I wear all the time. Cool

The people chosen are going to be very lucky and should feel honored to be a part of such a great site. Cool
