Mates to know: Part 1

Here`s a line of mates:

Legal`s mate has "twists" in it. Look at Nxe5, try dxe5 and white is a pawn up with Qxg4. At black`s move h6??, there are 3 developing moves to stop mate: Nc6 is best for an early stop to mate, Be7, and Nf6. 1 of the 2 other mates(Scholar`s Mate)may be stopped by some "opening principles" or developing and chasing the queen. For Fool`s mate, rely on a few "principles": control the center, don`t move pawns towards the side in this mate, pawn structure, and develop your pieces since it`s the opening.
