I think everyhing wins for black there. If 8.f3 we have a) 8...Rc7 followed by 9...Rh2 etc when Rg2 doesn't work and everything is passive for white. After 8.f3 we even have 8...e5 with the simple idea 9...e4.

Y not 8. f3
Black might then drop down attacking the queen but then white answers with 9. Rg2 offering an exchange (trying to simplyfy and uncomplicate things) g3 would be protected from the queen if the exchange is accepted or not.
I might be completly wrong but just a thought.
