Always try to get a post-mortem after the game if you are up for it and even sometimes when you are not in the mood for it. Analysing with stronger players, seeing what they were thinking about during the game can be tremendous help. Also just analysing with somebody just as strong or even weaker than you can reveal something from the game you didn't see. Plus you sometimes find fun variations.
